Day 1: International Arrival in Lima

Day 02: City Tour Lima Colonial and Modern
PM Modern Lima We will begin our tour visiting the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores where we will see the Financial Center, the San Isidro Golf Course and the Olive Grove Park. We will also go by the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-inca pyramid shape temple that has survived the expansion of modern civilization. We will stop at Parque del Amor (Love Park) and enjoy a nice view of the Pacific Ocean, as we drive down the Miraflores Malecon, a road along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
Colonial Lima
We will visit downtown Lima`s historical center, designated by Unesco as Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1991. In this journey we will enjoy what once was the center of the 16th century Spanish colony. We will see the Plaza Mayor, the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop`s Palace, the City Hall and the Desamparados Train Station. We will also see Plaza San Martin, a large park surrounded by old colonial buildings still displaying beautiful carved wood balconies and other landmarks.
San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs
We shall visit the San Francisco Monastery and its famous underground crypts known as the Catacombs. At the end of the tour you will have a choice to either shop at the Indian Market, Larcomar Mall or return to your hotel.
Day 03: Lima – Arequipa
Reception and transfer to hotel. We visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, Plaza de Armas, the Jesuit Church “La Compa Compañia”, its cloisters and domes, the Tristan del Pozo House, Yanahuara neighborhood (vantaje point and Church), having an amazing view of the visit the typical city districts of high and Yanahuara Carmen. Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 4: Arequipa and Tranfer to Colca
After breakfast, continue by land on your excursion towards the Colca Valley driving across Pampa Cañahuas at the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, habitat of herds of Vicuñas and stopping at the Mirador de los Andes, the Crater of Chucura, the Mirador de Chivay, where beautiful pre-Columbian terraces still being cultivated by native Collaguas can be observed. The highest point of the road is at 4350 m.a.s.l. Arrival to the Town of Chivay at 13:00hrs. approx. Transfer to your selected Lodge. lunch. In the afternoon free time to visit Hot Spring Thermal and Medicinal Baths.

Day 5: Condor`s Cross / Colca Canyon / Return to Arequipa

Day 6: Arequipa – Cusco
Meet upon arrival and transfer to your selected Hotel. Rest and adapt to altitude.

Day 7: Cusco – Sacred Valley of the Incas
After we will visit an ancient but enigmatic Ollantaytambo Fortress located in a typical Inca town, composed by numerous temples and terraces. This archaeological complex is one of the biggest monumental exposures that the Inca have ever done.
Overnight in the Sacred Valley. Lodging at the hotel.

Day 8: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Meals Included: Breakfast at hotel and buffet lunch.
Note: When operational or technical reasons obligate the Train Operator to relocate the clients onto the Sacred Valley-Aguas Calientes train service or viceversa, Best Peru Tours will provide all transfers needed to the train station in the Sacred Valley in order to board the train to Aguas Calientes or viceversa.
Day 9: Cusco – Puerto Maldonado
Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, Peru’s Capital City of Biodiversity, we will welcome you at the airport. Then, we’ll start our program with a visit around the city, on a bus.
Afterwards, we will go to Puerto Capitanía, to board a motorized riverboat, and we’ll navigate on the Madre de Dios River. During the journey, we will submerge into a fascinating natural environment, if we are lucky we will witness Ronsocos, Caimans, Turtles, Herons, Cormorants and other animal species in their natural environment.
Arriving at the Ecoamazonia Lodge, we will enjoy an exquisite welcome drink, we’ll get settled in our bungalows and will have lunch together.
CAIMÁN COCHA
After lunch you will be conducted by our specialized tour guide through an interpretive trail conveniently signposted to the Caimán Cocha, a small lake with an abundant presence of specimens of Black Caiman (Melanosuchus Niger) and Caiman (Caiman Crocodilus).
At the end of the evening, you will witness the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, an experience full of intensities overwhelming color ranges.
Upon returning to the Lodge, a delicious dinner will await you, and enjoy free time to share unforgettable moments at the bar, equipped with an excellent game room and all the drinks you can imagine.

Day 10: Lost Cocha & Monkey Island
After breakfast, we will start an adventure in the virgin rainforest, and accompanied by a local guide, we’ll go on a hike in the deep jungle, to get to the Lost Cocha which constitutes a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a huge variety of animals. There, we’ll have the chance to observe Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapirs) Birds with multicolored feathers, the majestic Jaguar and a variety of fish species. This area is unique and proper to the Ecoamazonia’s Ecological Reserve which maintains it intact, with huge swamps and diverse “aguajales”.
Then, we’ll get to the extraordinary Observation Deck, from which we’ll be able to appreciate the immense and magical rainforest. Afterwards, we’ll have a pleasant canoe ride around the lake and will return to the lodge for lunch.
MONKEY ISLAND
In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, a unique place in the heart of Madre de Dios River, five minutes away from the Lodge. During the hike, we will observe extraordinary landscapes, with an exuberant flora, sheltering a variety of monkey species, in their natural habitat, such as Maquisapas, Capuchins, Small Lion Monkeys, Frailes, Cotos and other animal species like the Coati and Sloths and a great variety of birds.
Finally, we’ll complete our visit of the island, enjoying the sunset, with the most impressive dusk in the jungle. Back to the lodge we conclude the day with a pleasant dinner.

Day 11: Puerto Maldonado – Lima
