Donald Trump will come to Peru for the Summit of the Americas
The press office of the White House confirmed the assistance of the president of the United States to the international forum to be held in April.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, will attend the VIII Summit of the Americas, an international forum that will take place on April 13 and 14 in Lima, the White House press office said the past Saturday 10th March.
The White House press office said in a brief statement:
This trip shows the president’s purpose to deepen our historical ties with our partners in the region and strengthen our joint commitment to improve the security and prosperity of the people of America.
It should be noted that this will be the first trip that Donald Trump made to Latin America since he came to power more than a year ago.
After Peru, Trump will travel to Colombia for meetings with President Juan Manuel Santos.
Trump’s topics at these meetings will include immigration, border security, and “fair and reciprocal trade,” Sanders said.
The Eighth Summit of the Americas will be held on April 13 and 14, 2018 in Lima, Peru.
The Heads of State and Government of the Americas will address the central theme of the Summit, “Democratic Governance against Corruption.” The Summits, which are held every three years, offer the opportunity for the leaders to jointly define a hemispheric agenda at the highest level that addresses the urgent challenges and promotes positive change.
